Founder Story

I stepped off a bus with nothing but gray sweats and a question.

Why not do better? Why not break the cycle? Why not refuse to be another statistic?

My story did not end in federal prison.

In 2010, I came home after serving five years in federal prison. I did not come home to a perfect plan. I came home to a hard road, a lot of uncertainty, and the choice to either keep carrying the old mindset or start building something different.

I remember what it felt like to have almost nothing and still need to show up. Transportation was a struggle. Work was a struggle. Trust was a struggle. I worked jobs nobody wanted. I learned how to be dependable again. I had to rebuild one day at a time, one choice at a time, one honest step at a time.

That is where the question started to mean something deeper to me. Why not do better? Why not break the cycle? Why not create a life I could be proud of?

Why Not Mindset came from that place. It came from knowing what I needed when I came home and wanting to help make sure the next person does not have to walk those first steps alone.

You are not your number.
You are not your charge.
You are a person.
And you are worth fighting for.

Why Not?

Why not choose accountability? Why not build trust again? Why not help someone else coming home believe there is still a way forward?
